Here is a collection of photos of vintage synths coming and leaving in/out of my hand. If you need photos of inside or outside of one of these instrument, just email me, maybe I can provide them to you. The instruments are not for sales.

SEQUENTIAL

SCI Pro-one

Wonderfull beast the SCI Pro-one sound great and is very powerfull : strong filter and complete modulation routing. One call it "Prophet 5 one-voice". It is using the same Curtis ICs. Made in USA.

AKAI

Akaï X7000

A nice sampler, very easy to use, especially in sampling, with a very crunchy sound. Unfortunatly it did not use a standard FDD 3"5 but a QDD 2"8 which is not so reliable than the FDD. Moreover the QD are rather rare nowaday. Made in Japan.

OBERHEIM

OBERHEIM  COSMOS

Rather rare electronic Piano from the "new" Oberheim in 1998. Sound good an the feeling of the keyboard is very good. Made in Europ.

ENSONIQ

Ensoniq VFX-SD

The ENSONIQ VFX-FD has a very big sound dues to multiple sound strcuture layout, not so vivid than a analog of course, but not so far.Made in Europ

ROLAND

ROLAND  KP-24

Funny and rare keyboard to MIDI KP-24 interface. Allow to convert any mono or poly keyboard (piano, organ, synthy etc.) in a MIDI keyboard controller on 2 octaves. The MIDI data generated by the KP-24 are the two lower octaves (bass) of the MIDI spec. They are easily transposables to matching other upper octaves using for instance a "Pocket transpose" ANATEK.Made in Japan.



KORG

KORG  Trident

The Trident is a beautiful very strong and amazing sounding synth, very under-rated. For instance it is much more powerful than a Roland Jupiter 6 or a SCI Prophet 600. It is able to produce great sounds just with the synth section. If you decide to add the string and the brass section you get a very very fat sound material. The flanger is one of the best I ever heard. Actually if you can afford yourself just a few synths/FX choose a Trident with for instance a Moog Source or pro-one and add a Roland RE-501. Basically that's all you need to create psychedelic vintage music if you are inspired. No MIDI here, you don't need it, just play and move knobs in front of you and feel the vibrations... Made in Japan.



KURZWEIL

KURZWEIL SP-88

The Kurzweil SP-88 and SP-76 are well-build and reliable coming with 88 (76) semi-weighted keystrokes and is easy to use on stage thanks to its lightweight. Two instrument in one : First It is a great stage piano with the award-winning Kurzweil sounds : piano, organ. Second a very nice MIDI performance keyboard controller offering a variety of splits and layered combinations with programmable controller assignments. It offer many MIDI controller features like two ribbons (pitch + mod).



PPG

Just for information : Full MIDI kit and 8 voices outputs. Especially made for the PPG Wave 2.2 this kit provide MIDI in/out/thru interface, include the piggy-back requested for the IO82 PPG board and the MIDI output terminal board. It also provide 8x 1/4" jack board for separate analog O/Ps of each of the 8 voices allow one to externally process them. Note 1) you need to have DIL-16 socket on the MB82 to get the local voices O/P (it is not provided on some of very early wave 2.2) Note 2) New EPROMs (including MIDI software) are requested for this kit and not included. The kit works from PPG V4.5 to V6. It has been sucessfully tested with the V8 too (see wwww.hermannseib.com for the V8). This one is a NOS coming with detailled documents (electrical, layout, pinout table etc.) allowing any synth tech to easy install.
